A small project, but mighty in style! We were determined to blend historic charm with modern functionality, ensuring no corners were cut in transforming this less-than-350-square-foot apartment into a stunning, livable space.

When we started, the apartment was a blank slate—a sea of gray carpet and uninspiring paint. The tiny kitchen housed full-sized appliances and an oversized sink, which overwhelmed the space. Our focus was to create a beautiful, functional kitchen with as much storage as possible for the tenant, the owner’s sister. Scaling the appliances to apartment-friendly sizes was the game-changer. We incorporated a compact range, dishwasher, and refrigerator, leaving ample room for storage.

The pitched roofline, while undeniably charming, posed a challenge for upper cabinets. Instead, we installed strategically placed open shelving that balanced practicality with openness, keeping the space light and inviting. A new pass-through doubles as bar seating, maximizing functionality in the living area, enhancing natural light in the kitchen, and adding a touch of character.

The bathroom, though small, exudes sophistication. A stunning slab of Calacatta Viola stone set the tone, paired with linen- colored wall tiles, bold black accents, and a show-stopping checkered floor. The pitched ceiling complicated mirror placement, but we resolved this with a horizontal mirror framed by two elegant sconces. Brass fixtures added warmth, complementing the dramatic black-and-white contrast and creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

Despite its modest size, this apartment is brimming with beauty and style—a perfect little gem to call home!

Amazing things come in small packages and this is a testament that style can be included in that saying.
